Goofy Robbers

DESCRIPTION & INSPIRATION

Goofy Robbers is a multiplayer board game about four robbers who fight against each other to steal the money from the bank and reach the escape car. The first player to do so wins the game. The game board is made up of a 20x20 grid.

Even though the tasks of the game suggest that it must be a highly strategic game. While one does need to think ahead and form a strategy to increase their winning chances, the game also incorporates a high degree of randomness. Each player rolls two D6 dice together in order to move. Therefore, the players have little say in how much so they move. It might be possible that a robber with a handful of money standing one block far from an escape vehicle gets two sixes on his turn, which would take them far away from the vehicle. So, this randomness in the game makes them act goofy. Hence the name, "Goofy Robbers". The game was basically designed to be humorous and fun for the players, with the vision to minimize boredom.

To make the game more interesting and fast-paced in line with the "goofy" theme, the game board also includes 16 "question mark" tokens on it in random spots. If any player passes through a question mark token, they get to pick a card from the pile. It can either be an "instant" card, which means that a player must use it instantly, or a "keep" card, which means that player doesn't need to use it instantly and can make a strategy on when to use it in order to win. These cards have different instructions written on their back, like "each player goes back to spawn". Thus, these cards make the players act goofy while also making the game unpredictable and fun.
